Terms and Conditions: Digital Files
Thank you for your support in helping us bring the CLUG™ Bike Clip to the world through digital 3D printing. 3D printing is new to a lot of people, so we want to clear a few things up before you open your CLUG Digital File.
This is a digital file of the CLUG Bike Clip only.
Digital files are NOT production versions of CLUG. They are digital files that allow you to print your CLUG on your own (or someone else’s) 3D printer. Not all 3D printers are alike and it is very likely that you will need to try different settings to get a CLUG that functions as intended.
We have been printing all of our CLUG prototypes using a material called PLA on a Makerbot Replicator 2. There are other materials (e.g. ABS) that can be used, but we have not tested CLUG with these materials. While we believe strongly in our product and the integrity of our design file, we cannot guarantee the performance of CLUG(s) created on your printer.
The following settings have provided us with CLUGs that we have been using for the past several months in our studio:

After you have printed your CLUG, we strongly recommend you mount it into a stud in the wall. DO NOT use any adhesives or double sided tape. Use drywall anchors at your own risk. If you choose to use drywall anchors without mounting into a stud, please ensure they are rated for 25 pounds of pull force or more. These anchors typically come with little arms that spread out behind the wall when you screw into them to provide more strength.
If you download and print this file you will become one of the first people to try CLUG outside of our inner circle. We will greatly appreciate any comments and suggestions you will have with respect to your printer settings, and of course what you think about CLUG.
Please send us pictures of how you use CLUG. We want to see everyone’s bike getting its hug!
We understand that we live in the digital age. We sold the digital files in order to embrace this Brave New World. We like to believe you supported us because you want to see us succeed in getting CLUG out to The World. We kindly ask you not to post these digital files on any file sharing platforms and use the files for personal use only. CLUG is protected by a pending patent application and your license under our intellectual property rights only extends to your personal use of the product.
We also need to make sure a few things are clear before we continue. Every 3D printer is different, and Hurdler Studios has no control over the production quality of your product. Based on this, by printing a CLUG Digital File, you agree to the following terms:
- You print and use CLUG at your own risk.
- Hurdler Studios, Inc. is not responsible for direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from any defect, error or failure to perform and you hereby indemnify Hurdler Studios, Inc. from any claims for damage(s) that may be caused from printing a CLUG and/or using a 3D-printed CLUG, whether the claims are raised by you or any third party. By clicking on the button below, you waive all current and future claims against Hurdler Studios, Inc. for any kind of damages that may arise from your printing or use of a CLUG from the downloaded CLUG digital file.
- Manufacturers occasionally ship a tire whose actual width is different from the advertised width. It is understood, by downloading and printing a CLUG Digital File, that all bike tires are manufactured to a different standard and Hurdler Studios, Inc. cannot be held responsible for tires that might not be manufactured as advertised. You are responsible for checking the measured width of your bike tires to determine whether it falls within the range specified for the appropriate version of CLUG. We do not recommend using the CLUG with bike tires that do not have a recommended measured tire width as listed below:
- Road CLUG: 23mm - 28mm
- Hybrid CLUG: 32mm - 38mm
- MTB CLUG: 1.75” - 2.5”
- By downloading and printing a CLUG digital file it is understood that a 3D Printed CLUG is for personal use only and you certify that you are using a 3D printed CLUG for personal use only and not for resale. All CLUG digital files are NOT licensed for resale and may not be used for any method of distribution. Hurdler Studios, Inc. has a patent application pending on CLUG and your license under our intellectual property extends only to your personal use of the product. You are not being given any right to grant sub-licenses.
- Hurdler Studios, Inc. provides no warranty, expressed or implied, on CLUG digital files. Hurdler Studios, Inc. provides no warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose on CLUG digital files or CLUGs printed from a CLUG digital file.
